Speech: Islam & Free Market: Friends or Foes?
Hakan Şahin is an independent researcher and a think-tanker. He studied Computer Engineering and Theology. He completed his MA on Business Administration. He is now pursuing a PhD on Islamic Economics & Finance with a thesis titled “Money Production in terms of Economics and Islamic Law”. Şahin worked as General Secretary at certain CSO’s and as project manager and communications systems manager at various private companies. He lectures and publishes on Islam and free market economy; natural rights, civil society, as well as the history of money and banking. He also works in Istanbul Network for Liberty, an international NGO with the mission of exploring and promoting the values and ideas of a free society in the Muslim World.
